NYFW

Hi guys!
So it's currently New York Fashion Week and we're loving some of the collections on show.
One of my personal favourites was Monique Huillier's designs:

I absolutely love the use of bright, vibrant colours as well as the soft, ivory/ cream dresses.

I've therefore decided to do my own take on these outfits but at a more affordable price.

First off is this outfit which is all from ASOS. ASOS is my absolute favourite place to shop online. The majority of items are very affordable and with free delivery you can't go wrong.
Trousers: £22
Jumper: £38
Shoes: £18

This outfit is also from ASOS. I've chosen two pairs of shoes as the outfit can easily be made a bit smarter- although it is arguably quite a smart outfit anyway.
Shorts: £35
Jumper: £25
Heels: £17.99
Flats: £12.99

The colours are bold and outgoing on both outfits and so the quieter person may shy away from this style (I'm more of a muted shades girl- occasionally with some bright colours) but why not try something new?! Bright colours can often make you feel more confident in yourself.
And I know autumn and winter are coming, but lets pretend it's summer for a bit longer!

What do you think to today's post? Should we do more takes on NYFW designs? We'd love to hear from you!

Love,

Bristol OOTD.

Hi Guys, Sorry it has been a while since you've heard from me.

So I thought its my turn to give you an OOTD post.

This outfit of the day is from the Bank Holiday Weekend, I spent the weekend down in Bristol with my parents and brother.
I actually purchased the jumper below from River Island in Bristol's Cabot Circus for £25. The jumper is a lovely ribbed knitted mustard colour and is slightly cropped. I paired the jumper with my sky light blue TopShop MOTO Vintage Joni high waisted jeans at £36.
  •

I finished off my outfit with a pair of All Star Low Top Converse in Maroon at £44.99, I love converse some may even say I have an obsession, but who doesn't have an obsession with shoes?

I hope you enjoyed today's post, sorry it is only a quick one.
Did you have a nice Bank Holiday? What did you do?
Let us know!

M's OOTD part 4

Hi guys!
Today is Thursday and so it's the fourth instalment of my outfit of the day week!
Tomorrow my college is closed because of leeds festival and so I'm currently unsure whether to do an ootd post as I'm hoping not to be dressed for most of the day! I am going out tomorrow evening though so I might post my outfit.

Top- Around £13?( I can't quite remember)
Jeans- £11, Primark
Shoes- £15(?) Topshop- although they're quite old so I'm not sure if they're sold anymore
And my bag is the usual which was £14.99 from H&M.

Hope you've enjoyed this week's posts (if not then its back to normal from tomorrow!)

Love,

Re-discovering Essie - Camera

Camera from Essie's Summer Poppy-Razzi Collection

Camera is a lovely coral, more on the pink/red side than the orange with a neon element. It is perfect for Summer, suiting the toes and well as the fingers. The formula is jelly like and nicely pigmented however as you can tell on the photo below (modelled by my beautiful mother and taken after 2 coats, with the camera flash on) you can still see a visible nail line, therefore I would recommend 3 coats to receive an opaque finish.

Just like Bikini So Teeny and To Buy Or Not To Buy, Camera can still be purchased online at prices lower than Essie's current collection.

This is the last of the three Eddie polishes that I rediscovered for this Summer.

Do you own any Essie Polish? What is your favorite Essie Collection or Polish?
Have you re-discovered any polish or beauty products this Summer?
[I am sorry guys that this post is less informative than some and that the image is not the best.]

M's OOTD part 3

Hi guys!
Today is the third part to my outfit of the day week (the other days are further down on the blog if any of you want to have a nosey) and my third day of college- which I love, although the days are pretty long!

Today I am wearing:
Top- £12.99, H&M
Leggings- £5.99, H&M
Shoes- £6, Primark
I am also wearing one of my pandora bracelets- I think it is between £35-£45- and a small black bracelet that B got me from Greece. I'm not intending to take this off, it's been permanently on my wrist since it was given to me. I love these types of bracelets!

Hope you enjoyed today's post! If you have any feedback, let us know, it really is appreciated!

See you tomorrow,
Love,

M's OOTD part 2

Hi guys!

So today is my second day at college and therefore my second outfit of the day post!

My first day went a lot better than expected- I thought I wasn't going to meet new people so easily, but I did, and that made me think; you may be terrified at the prospect of starting somewhere new- I think everyone goes through some form of fear- but things always turn out for the best. So perhaps we should stop putting ourselves under so much pressure and stress because things always have a funny way of sorting themselves out.

Today's outfit:

Jumper- £5.99, H&M
Jeans- £10, H&M
Shoes- £6, Primark (the same as yesterday, just a different colour)
And I'm not too sure where the necklace is from as it's my sister's, but many high street stores sell these kind nowadays.
The bag I'm using is the one in yesterday's post.

Hope you've enjoyed this morning's post!
See you tomorrow,
Love,

M's OOTD

Hi guys!
Today is my first day of art college and myself and B thought what better way to start my days for this first week with an Outfit Of The Day post and B is planning to do the same when she starts Uni!
So for my first week of college I will be posting my outfits- I'll only do my first week because, like everyone does, I'll start repeating my outfits and you guys will have no want to see them twice!

So I know I said I was painting my nails a bright colour because I wear subtle clothing, but this top is a one off! It's pretty much the only super bright item I own, but I absolutely love it! It is £45 from ASOS.
My shoes and jeans are both from Primark. The shoes were £6 and the jeans were £11.
And last but not least is my handbag, which was £14.99 from H&M, and it's my new college bag so I'll pretty much be using it everyday this week!

Hope you liked this quick post!
See you tomorrow,
Love,

Our Mid-Month Update In Photos

Our Updates In Photos post was originally a weekly post when we began this blog to keep you updated in a quirky way, however we have not done this post since June! So I (B) thought I would just do a quick upload of our mid-month updates.

Once we have both got settled back into a routine at College and University hopefully these posts will once again become weekly. That is if our life is interesting enough to keep you guys entertained!

It is Summer and I (B) managed to get away to Rhodes in Greece for 2 week which was lush.

On Thursday (15th August) both myself and M got our A-Level results. I got accepted onto my university course and Maisie got accepted into Art College. This academic year is going to be strange for both of us but we are looking forward to it and don't worry, myself and M are still going to be working together on the blog, you cant get rid of us that easily!

Being beauty bloggers myself and M have also made a few purchases both beauty and fashion based that we will upload in review/haul blog posts.

How has your August been so far?
We would love to know.

Topshop Cream Blush

(I did swatch before I took the image, Sorry!)

I have fancied purchasing a cream blush for a while and my mini spur of the moment shopping trip yesterday seemed to be the day. I find that cream blush is easier to blend and the shades have a buildable warmth which is perfect for Winter, yes I am planning ahead already, purchasing now before the life of a university student begins. Another reason as to why I fancied purchasing a cream blush is that during Winter my skin reacts better to cream foundations and blush than powder, powder seems to highlight my dry patches that are unfortunately enhanced with central heating.

Once again like the lipstick packaging, it is a lovely ivory and black polka dot pattern. The benefit of this packaging is that it is a thin compact with a nice size, ideal mirror. However just like the lipstick due to the ivory packaging it is prone to scratching or getting dirty easily.

I purchased Neon Rose, it would work for all skin types as it is a buildable shade, especially upon darker skin tones. It can easily be blended out depending on how natural you want your look. With the pan based cream you don't have to worry about "digging" in your finger/brush and overloading the amount you apply, however if this does happen the benefit of a cream is to blend it out with either your fingers or a brush. When I have applied the blush I have used Real Techniques Stippling Brush

The swatch on the left is after blending and has a coral/orange warmth not an overly pink, which once again I think will give a fabulous heated cheek look in Winter.

For £6 this product is fabulous and I am slightly disappointed in myself that after almost 3 years of Topshop having a make-up range (thats right they started in 2010) I have only just jumped on the bandwagon.
Ah well, better late than never!

Do you own any TopShop make up? What are you thoughts?

Rose Libertine

Hi guys!
So I'm just doing a quick post today on one of my favourite nail colours. It's Rose Libertine (405) by Rimmel London.

It's an older colour of mine but I love it. It's quite a bright colour but because I've mostly started wearing more subtle coloured clothes (more black, navy, grey, white etc) it complements them as well as bringing a bit more colour to what I'm wearing.

One of my favourite things to use once having painted my nails is Avon Nail Experts Liquid Freeze. You spray it on your nails- I usually leave it on for a minute or so, although it could be less- and it pretty much dries instantly. I would just recommend gently washing your hands because it is quite greasy. All in all though its very handy to have and if you're in a rush it can save time!

So it's just a quick post on what I like (and what I'm currently wearing!) at the moment.

And here's a little picture of my kitten, Bella, being nosey at my nail varnish collection;

Hope you enjoyed this short post!

Re-discovering Essie - To Buy Or Not To Buy

The next Essie nail varnish that I have 're-discovered' is To Buy Or Not To Buy from Essie's Navigate Her Spring 2012 Collection.

Just like Bikini So Teeny the polish in the bottle has a shimmer to it, however disappointingly the shimmer can not be seen once the polish has been applied to the nails. The colour is a beautiful light lilac.

The formula gives a cream finish after what we would recommend to be 3 coats as there were a few streaks still available after 2 coats as you can see below.

To Buy Or Not To Buy is a polish that can be worn with a casual or a formal outfit as it adds a nice element of class.

Essie's 2012 Spring Collection including To Buy Or Not To Buy can still be purchased online at prices lower than Essie's current collection prices so why not have a look online and see what you can find.

Camera from Essie's Summer Poppy-Razzi Collection will be my final "re-discovering Essie for Summer 2013" blog post so keep a lookout for it!

Do you own any Essie Polish? What is your favorite Essie Collection or Polish?
Have you re-discovered any polish or beauty products this Summer?

M's make-up haul

Hi guys!

Today we've both finally managed to get around to blogging again after quite a long break, so we're sorry about the long wait but we're back and will be doing regular posts from now on!

I've recently- well today- treated myself to new make-up. I had literally run out of most of my essential items so although it was costly, it had to be done. I can't complain much though, I love my new make-up!

So as you can see I wasn't overreacting about my lack of make-up.
The top left is my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in Ivory which is currently £4.99 (reduced for a limited time from £6.99). I haven't had this exact foundation before but I've had very similar and really liked it so I'm excited to try it!
In the middle is my Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer which was £6.99. I've wanted a primer for a while so I thought I'd give this one a go.
I also bought a Hide The Blemish Concealer which was £3.99.
And at the bottom is my Stay Matte Pressed Powder (3.99).

I have also bought Rimmel Glam'Eyes Day 2 Night mascara (I bought this a couple of weeks ago) and I love it! It has two different style brushes- one part for volume and one for length, and it makes my eyelashes thicker and longer without clumping. Perfect. I haven't got the receipt for this but I seem to this was either £7.99 or £8.99.
In the middle is my Glam'Eyes Liquid Liner which was £5.29. I've had this before and I love it!
On the right is my Exaggerate Undercover Shadow Primer which I haven't tried previously but I'm excited to use it. It was £4.99.
I also treated myself to some new eyeshadow. I have plenty of eyeshadow but I don't have these shades and I really liked them so I thought, why not? It's Rimmel Traffic Stopping Shadow in Sharp Turn and it was £6.49.

Last but not least is my new lipstick. It is part of Kate Moss' range for Rimmel London and the shade is Rossetto/08. I rarely wear lipstick but I love this shade so I thought I'd try it. It was £5.49.

I have well and truly gone all out on buying myself new make-up but I thought I would treat myself.
All the products I bought are Rimmel. Rimmel is one of my favourite cosmetics brand and I'm never usually disappointed with what I buy!

What do you guys think to the make-up I've bought? Have you ever tried any of it?
Let me know what you think,
Love,
M x

Re-discovering Essie - Bikini So Teeny

Hi Guys,

Before I went away I chose 3 Essie nail polishes to take to Greece with my, these were:

  • A Blue shade Essie polish - Bikini So Teeny
  • A Purple shade Essie polish - To Buy Or Not To Buy
  • A Red/Coral shade Essie polish - Camera
I feel as though I have "re-discovered" these nail polishes and re-discovering does help us as bloggers to save money/ to get our moneys worth in the products that we purchase.

Bikini So Teeny is from the 2012 Essie Summer Collection.
To Buy Or Not To But is from Navigate Her Spring 2012 Collection.
Camera is from Essie's Summer Poppy-Razzi Collection.

Bikini So Teeny

The pastel baby blue colour has an easy applicator as the brush is flat and gives a easy coverage of the nail. (shown below after just one coat)

However the glitter particles that you can see in the bottle are not transferred or appear on the nail which can be disappointing although in the light it does add to a pretty shine amongst the polish. The final shade of blue after two coats is that of a clear sky blue with a soft lilac undertone. The nail varnish dries rather quickly and doesn't leave any streaks.

Essie's 2012 Summer Collection including Bikini So Teeny can still be purchased online at prices lower than Essie's current collection prices so why not have a look online and see what you can find.

To Buy Or Not To But is from Navigate Her Spring 2012 Collection and Camera is from Essie's Summer Poppy-Razzi Collection will both be featured in their own blog post following the structure and content of this one so make sure you look out for them!

Do you own any Essie Polish? What is your favourite Essie Collection?
Have you "Re-discovered" any polish or beauty products this Summer?

Maybelline Color Sensation.

We all have that last minute shopping that we undertake before we head off for a few days or a few weeks and one of my favourite "last minute" buys before I headed to Rhodes on 24th July was Coral Pearl 852 and Pink Hurricane 165 which are both from the Color Sensational Maybelline Collection.

The lipstick collection itself has 5 separate categories, these are the reds, plums, pinks, pearls and nudes.
I purchased 165 for myself and 852 for my Mum ( you will see below that my Mum adores this lipstick ) at £7.19 each.

The swatch (below) on the left is Pink Hurricane 165 and the swatch on the right is Coral Pearl 852.

165 has a warmer undertones that 825 however both are not massive statement pieces and are ideal for everyday use. The lipsticks are only slightly pigmented and both have a lovely shimmer after application. However due to the slight pigment they do need to be re-applied once or twice throughout the day.

It is also nice to purchase an item that smells good. The smell of these Maybelline lipsticks reminds me personally of  coco butter/chocolate, they smell so good!

Have you purchased any Maybelline Lipsticks? Maybe from this collection, maybe from another?
What has been your Summertime lipstick of this year?
We would love to hear from you so let us know!

Demi Lovato, Get her look!

Demi has recently been photographed wearing this fabulous outfit at a performance, and I don't know about you but it reminds me a lot of M's outfit from Wednesday in London, and although M''s outfit was not styled on this photo both outfits are a great choice for Summer!

One of our very first post's was to do with Denim jackets and how they never seem to wear out of fashion. Demi is really rocking her jacket.

A sleeveless denim jacket like the one that Demi is pictured in above can be purchased
from New Look for £14.99. The denim jacket is a light denim material therefore will not add a lot of warmth resulting in it being perfect to wear through out the hot summer days! ( We are being optimistic and hoping that the sun will stay in the UK!)

The dress above would cost you £20 from the online store Boohoo, although it is of a longer length than Demi's it has the see-through material which you could take up to a size that suits you. The fabulous thing about this dress is that it has a belt already that can pull you in at the waist however if you feel uncomfortable wearing a belt and pulling in your waist as you feel it may accentuate your hips you can remove the belt and allow the dress to be straight covering the belt loops with the denim jacket!

The belt above is £4 from Matalan, the floral pattern adds to a festival feel, we believe this photo of Demi was taken at an outside gig so the festival feel is present.

The accessories are all down to you, get Demi's look but don't forget to add your own unique twist!
Here are a few accessories that you could consider:

On Demi's left hand you can see a range of bracelets, one that stand out to us is the blue one, the first bracelet on the lower of her arm, we found a blue bead bracelet for £4 at Sainsburys which is pictured below. The blue pulls out the blue colour of the denim jacket.
We suggest that you make your braclet collection personal.

Demi's nails are coated in a bright red nail polish. The bold colour is lovely in Summer, you can purchase a bright red such as Essie Too Too Hot at £7.99 from a drugstore such as boots.

Demi is wearing a bold "stone" ring on her right hand index finger. Costume jewelry is brilliant to invest in, they can make an outfit and often the prices of jewelry is very affordable. The ring below is priced at £2 from River Island.

Demi's gold coloured necklace has a thick chain and a bold statement piece at the end, just like the item we have found below! Headphone Jack Necklace

from Asos priced at £20.

Demi's shorter necklace looks to be of a leather material with a large pendant, a vintage necklace may be ideal to invest in for this accessory and with it being leather it should continue to last.

The link to purchase the clothing items online are all below, in the same order that they appear in the post:

Once again - Don't forget that you don't have to purchase the items above from the stores we have recommended, shop around and you may find your own or even have the item at home.

If you have any of these items at home you can create this outfit and once items like this are purchased they are always fabulous to add to create another outfit. If you are a student don't be be afraid to ask about student discounts, many of the stores do them, so its worth it, you're worth it!

Have you liked this "Get their look" post? Who are your style icons? Who would you like us to base our next "Get their look" post on?
Let us know!
We hope we have achieved a post that is based upon an affordable income with £20 being the most priced item.
We believe that Demi's smile just perfects this outfit, a smile carries more beauty than any item of clothing so
dont forget to smile!

June Favourites (B)

Hi Guys,
So June has been such a busy month for me and surprisingly I didn't purchase that much, or I didn't purchase that many items that I love and believe should be included in my June favourites.

I have 2 items of clothing, 1 cosmetic item and 1 accessory for my June favourites, just a short and sweet post.

Although both of these items may not be seen as a "Summer" item, they are my favourite clothing purchase's of June. I found last year that high waisted jeans were incredibly hard to find and purchase when I was in need of them the most, so although these jeans could look lovely with a floaty top or a crop top in the Summer, I have a  feeling they will also become a Winter essential for me. The material also has enough stretch for  comfortable movement throughout the day. They are Jamie Moto High Waisted Jeans from TopShop.

The chunky heel ankle boots were £69.99 from Pavers, they are not something that I would go looking to buy but once I saw them they were a must purchase. Unlike other heels that I own the heels on these boots are very light and do not result in my leg aching from lifting a heavy heel. They are chestnut brown suede leather with strong warmths of red making them rather easy to pair with different outfits.

I am known for "giving in" and experimenting with recommended products. Maybelline Falsies Mascara is one of these products, and I can honestly say that I don't regret the purchase, both myself and M love Benefit - They're Real Mascara and we found that Benefit - They're Real works better on M than it does on myself, however I have found that Maybelline for me has the same effect on my eyelashes that They're Real does for M which is a fabulous result from a highstreet/drugstore mascara at £7.99.

My last item is the Silver ring that I purchased at Camden Market last week in London. (Myself and M have posted daily entries of our week in London below, check them out!) I have been looking for a new ring for a few months and this ring is now situated on my left thumb. I am also a sentimental person and this ring represents the end of college and the beginning of what I hope to be a fabulous Summer before I head off to Uni.

What were your favourite purchases of the month? Do you purchase things in Summer that you know will be best styles for Winter?
Let me know
Have a good July!
Love

London- Friday 28th June

Friday was our last day in London (unfortunately) and it wasn't very interesting at all to be honest with you guys, so this will be a short post!

We spent part of our morning packing, and then we travelled to Victoria on the tube. Our Megabus was at half 4 and literally had 5 hours to kill, so we spent most of our time in Café Nero!

We absolutely loved our time in London and can't wait to go back!

Our recent posts have been different to usual but we thought we may as well update you on what's been happening in our lives! As we have stated we do love being a fashion and beauty blog, however we are going to include lifestyle posts and we hope that the update of our week in London has done the trick.

We hoped you enjoyed it- and if not normal blogging will resume as of now!

What have you thought to our London updates? Do you guys like it as much as us?
Let us know
Till next time
Love,
